Question:
My lovely 7 yr old daughter came home with lice 2 months ago. Never did
find out where she got it, no one else had lice at school. I treated her
with Rid shampoo 3 times, combed out her hair about 20 times (no joke).
Washed everything she owned in hot water, sprayed the whole house down.
Then did it again 8 days later. I'm kind of a clean freak. I must have
spent over $100 on lice treatment.
Now? Mommy has it. Been itching for a week but DH couldn't find anything
in my hair. Finally last night I said, listen. I think I have lice, you
better find them. He still didn't find anything. After checking DDs hair,
I sent her to school. Then I took the rest of the shampoo left over (which
isn't enough) and washed my hair. Immediately, I saw them. Either DH is
blind or they were hiding good. I have light brown hair. I went to
Walmart and bought yet more shampoo. BUT, is it ok to use during pregnancy?
Doesn't say one word about it on the box.
Another question I have is.....where did these darn bugs hide for almost 2
months? What did I miss? Like I said, I am a clean freak and I sprayed the
whole house down. Can animals get lice? This is getting old....especially
since its ME.
Answer:
Did you spray the car down too? Did you put all of her toys and stuffed
animals into plastic bags for several days? I've been told they can't hide
on animals so you don't have to worry about that. Not sure how else you
could have gotten them especially 2 months later. Are you sure DH doesn't
have them?
I would ask the doctor about using the treatment. Those fumes are pretty
bad stuff.
