Question:
So everyone has heard of mutant head lice... well My kid has a ravaging
case.
She went to visit my ex for a month and came back INFESTED to the tenth
degree.
I have used RID ... that hardly worked at all. So i tried NIX, that kind of
worked. day 2 Im still pulling off live nits. I believe these 2 products use
different pestocides... thus meaning This strain is resistant to both
Pyrethrines and Permethrin. I followed the instructions for use to the T.
Over the past 3 days I have spent a total of about 8+ hours combing with a
nit comb....shes 5... I dont know how she stands it honestly.
Im changing bedding, blankets and all daily and washing them out in hot
conditions. I have a shaved head (thank god!!!) but what will kill these
little nasty varmints?
The world seems to think there MAY be lice resistant to the treatments...
well DUH!!! I can tell you it's fact.
Now what do I do?
Answer:
Well I suppose the first thing to do would be to calm down and do a little
reading. Nobody ever died from head lice and apparently they spread no
diseases. It is, I would agree, not the nicest feeling to have these pests
swimming in the insecticides that are supposed to kill them. Quite an
expensive swimming pool too.
Earlier this year I was in exactly the same position as yourself, but with
two girls instead. This method worked very well for me and I have put it up
on a few web pages to help those who find themselves with lice and not a
great deal else.
As well as describing my method in detail there are some (few) very useful
links if you would like to read more about these critters. Please note that
wholesale washing and cleaning is being steadily replaced by common sense
and some rational thought. Don't wear yourself out chasing lice everywhere.
Concentrate on the head and the childs contacts. This is a much more
rewarding way to spend your energies.
