Question:
I work in a day care and there is an outbreak of the little bugs.
Thankfully I have not gotten them, and I'm trying my hardest to avoid
it! I know while pregnant you cannot use regular lice shampoos, which I
would normally do in an outbreak to ensure I don't catch them, but since
I'm expecting I can't do that. Does anyone know if that is correct and
also are there any other precautions I can take to not catch them, aside
from the obvious (don't share hair things, don't mess with the
children's hair and so forth...). Any help would be greatly
appreciated!
Answer:
My school aged kids had them a few weeks ago, and gave them
to my Seth...my precious baby..sob sob.
Anyway I did everyone, I couldn't be arsed checking everyone
to seee if they had them or not so I just sprayed everyone.
I also did myself. It doesn't actually say not to use in
pregnancy, just seek medical advice first...which I never
do...lol
But in my opinion the combing is quite effective in
preventing (and erradicating )them if your don't want to use
insectiside. Wet combing I think is what's suggested. With
conditioner in the hair.
And keep your hair pulled back, out of the way of the little
vine swingers.
I do know of an all natural product that might be okay to use
during pregnancy. I would check with a doctor first though.
It is made by Nad's, an Australian company. To check it out, the
URL is: http://www.nads.com.au/total_solution.html
I have never used the product, but I know a few people who have
(and they were not pregnant at the time). They rave about it.
